Took off work today to fix the non starting yard machines 163 cc never change with the Briggs 675 engine. Would start with starting fluid but wouldn't stay running. I bought the following from Amazon:
New no name carb for ten bucks
E3 spark plug
New no name air filter
Toro SAE 30 20 oz oil. Takes 18 oz.
Tru Fuel
Mechanic In A Bottle
Installed everything but would not stay running. I took the carb off again and realized I forgot the o-ring to where the carb air intake mounts.
Started but surged.
Disassembled and found that what I think is a breather tube wasn't seated properly to the back of the filter.
Now we are in business.
I took apart the old carb and it was pretty fouled up.
Feels good to do these things yourself instead of having a tech fix it. Saved a bunch of moolah also.
Thanks for reading!
