My uncle has a Yamaha jetski, I have a Polaris, both are 2-strokes. For Christmas he gave me a gallon of synthetic blend Yamalube. I don't see any ratings on the jug, but I'm a little leery of using it in my Polaris. Anybody think it would be okay, or should I just try to sell it and buy Polaris oil? Thanks.

Which Yamalube is it?

Yamalube oil seems to be pretty low end I think. Other than the 2R.

used yamalube in everything I raced for lotta years, whether it was a honda or kawasaki or whatever. one of the best 2-stroke oils out there.? with gas that is. methanol its far and away maxima 927. but I doubt yer running methanol thru the sled....

Citgo makes it and it's thought to be a very good injector oil. Better for your ski than running an tcw3 outboard oil IMO. It's a jaso-fc cert oil BTW, though they might not show it on the label.

No, it's just a regular cruiser, a 2000 Virage 700cc with a Skat Trak impeller. I already blew one engine from probable oil pump failure, a piston pin let go. Since the second year I've had it I've run Polaris synthetic in it. Costs more but the plugs last a lot longer. Even the Polaris shop told me to try Amsoil Interceptor Oil but they were out of it the last time I was there. You're right, there is no JASO rating on the jug. I've never used plain TCW-3 outboard oil in it. Thanks.
