Does anyone have any specs on yamalube's HD lower unit oil? There's no viscosity listed anywhere that I've been able to find and no clue if it's conventional or synthetic.
My 250 Yamaha sho specs their HD lube first then a GL-5 80 or 90w as secondary. So I would assume it's probably just a yamalube branded GL-5 90w gear oil.
I'm not really looking to move away from using it as it's been perfectly fine for 200 hrs and I don't want to risk ruining the roller needle bearings in the lower unit, I just want to know the dang specs!

HD is synthetic, but my recollection is not for 250s. For 300s and 350s I believe. You may want to look into this.

The SHO models have different specs than the F series motors.
The lower specifies the HD oil. Engine oil is 5 or 10w30 only where the F series can go up to 20w40 depending on ambient.

Thanks. 10w40 is the only oil that prevents "making oil" in my F300s. My 4.2s require the HD gear oil.
