The filter that came off the V1 Sport a couple months ago. The previous owner had told me he changed the oil and filter before I bought it from him at 27 hours, to be safe I changed it myself at 40 hours before this season. From the looks of the oil that came out and the filter I can believe it only has 12ish hours on it total.

Looks like it's probably Denso built. The biggest issue is the can is pretty flimsy and it's smaller size made it difficult to cut because it kept bending inwards instead of cutting, which means the can is kind of mangled and some of the pleats are a bit flattened. I'd like to see a stronger can. Replaced with a K&N Gold. Hole in the can is to help drain it before unscrewing it (it's mounted to the top of the engine base side down and would make a colossal mess if you don't do this first)

Everything looks well. I always liked the story behind Yamaha's Piano Key logo. Do you plan on running this Yamaha again for 12 hours this summer?

I'm hoping for a bit more than that this year :) ; and depending on the hours I may not change it next spring.

Good for you.. Get out and enjoy the great outdoors while we can. I don't change my lawnmower every year either but I put less than 20 hours on any one of my mowers too. This just gave you a baseline of how things were going with this machine & was wise to do so.
