They need to focus on their search engine ...maybe push Yahoo to the back and bring the old legend "Alta Vista" to the forefront .

It really does a great job, has a simple white page and clean layout, and best of all the search results are much better than those of Google! I use it as my home page.

Love live Alta Vista!

Yahoo is losing business and has been stalling for years on improvement.

What they didn't understand is people do not like graphics and flash in a simple search, and they want the search to get the most relevant topic rather than a bunch of ad driven results.

The same can be said about their other "products", none of them are as efficient as google other than weather. Yahoo traffic / map is acceptable but just not as efficient and clean. They try to pack too many ads and it back fire.

Also the part about Alipay being stolen isn't any win either.

The share holders would love to take the money, but MS will still drove it to the ground like hotmail, autopoints, etc, but at least the share holder will make some money.

You're one of about 6 people worldwide, LOL.

They've been in trouble for some time.

They should have spent time letting people know about Alta Vista which they acquired some years ago.

It "out googles" Google. Especially now that it has that
HORRIBLE Black Bar of Distraction.

I have been using them for my email for years but they have almost driven me away. They are always messing with it, to the point that it is virtually unusable at times.

Yahoo is still around?

Seriously, few people use their services anymore. 2005 it was neat, now, it offers nothing that other players in the market offer, without all the ads, popups, bloated software or useless mobile versions.

She was making $30mil per year as CEO. Unbelievable.

More American insanity. Rewarded handsomely for screwing the pooch, just like many top execs in the USA are.

If you or I screw up royally we are usually fired pretty quickly.

100% agreed.

They have indeed done exactly that. They recently signed a 10 year agreement to use Bing as their search engine.

What does Yahoo do nowadays? I haven't visited their site in over 4 years. Is there a value that no one else provides?

Their weather is pretty good, so are financial, news, and casual game.

The bigger problem is people aren't using them as much with smart phones and they completely missed that, as well as the social networking thing.

They are still very popular in Asia and combine with their holding in Alibaba is about equal to their current stock price. In other word, their US operation is worth nothing.
