High likelihood I have to replace OEM tires early due to unrepairable puncture (see other post). Car is 2024 Venza which came with SL tires. I am going with Vredestein. Have been happy with a couple sets of Quatrac Pro which are XL. Vredestein also makes SL Hitrac. I do not carry heavy loads or tow. Will the XL Quatrac Pro give a noticeably stiffer ride than the SL Hitrac? I like the idea of beefier XL but maybe it is not a big deal either way.

What is the weight difference between the two? That will tell you a lot.
XL tires usually provide more steering response than SL tires.

The difference between an SL and an XL is small enough that you can ignore it. What really makes a difference is the inflation pressure - and if you use the same inflation pressure, you aren't going to notice the difference.
However if you're changing make/model, the difference can be quite large and depends on what you're coming from and what you are going to.

Going from Bridgestone Ecopia SL to Vredestein Quatrac Pro XL
The biggest problem here is the OE Bridgestone. We don't know how Toyota designed the ride qualities compared with the average tire. It's likely there won't be much difference, but it's far from a sure thing.

XL is kind of like a C rating. It will have a slightly stiffer sidewall and heavier construction. The ride quality might be a little bumpier but you’re also getting more puncture resistance.

No. What I am saying is we can't know enough to give you a definitive answer. It's quite possible for things to get better, but it's also possible for things to be worse.
I have the XL Quatrac Pro on my 2020 Lexus ES 350 and had them on our 2010 MDX. Really like them. Have given up on Bridgestone and Michelin.

At the risk of speaking for our friend…
I believe what he’s saying is that you’ll see more difference from inflation pressure (or tire model to tire model) difference than you will from the XL vs. SL rating on the tires.
