High likelihood I have to replace OEM tires early due to unrepairable puncture (see other post). Car is 2024 Venza which came with SL tires. I am going with Vredestein. Have been happy with a couple sets of Quatrac Pro which are XL. Vredestein also makes SL Hitrac. I do not carry heavy loads or tow. Will the XL Quatrac Pro give a noticeably stiffer ride than the SL Hitrac? I like the idea of beefier XL but maybe it is not a big deal either way.

It seems these are all questions of degree.

How much more stiffly does an XL ride?
How much louder are they?
Do you even track your fuel mileage? Would anyone notice the difference between them re fuel use?

I like the idea of a beefier tire too.

What size is your Versa's tire?

The difference between an SL and an XL is small enough that you can ignore it. What really makes a difference is the inflation pressure - and if you use the same inflation pressure, you aren't going to notice the difference.

However if you're changing make/model, the difference can be quite large and depends on what you're coming from and what you are going to.

XL is kind of like a C rating. It will have a slightly stiffer sidewall and heavier construction. The ride quality might be a little bumpier but you’re also getting more puncture resistance.

XL question pops out here every week almost.
I have XL on Toyota and BMW. There is no any difference in Toyota between SL and XL that I can notice. On BMW, XL are standard.

I use XL tires on half tons for towing for the higher pressures to keep side wall squirm at a minimum when towing. Not interested in LTs.
