Wyoming/Minnesota winter..0W30 or 5W30?

Welcome to Bitog. GM calls for a 30 grade oil. I'd run 0W30 year round if I were you.

There are very few 0w30 oils available in the States but the most appropriate one would be Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w30 and yes you can use it year round.

Yes you can use 0w30 all year, but the only readily available 0w30 is Mobil 1. It is awesome stuff.
NOTE: Castrol also makes a 0w30, but it is on the very thick side of 30, almost a 40. It is often referred to as GC or "German Castrol" here on BITOG. But remember you probably DO NOT want this oil. It is only sold at Autozone.

Mobil 1 0w30 is perfect for you. However, any synthetic 5w30 should do, especially Mobil 1's own 5w30.

I thought he meant year round as in all year, and not for a one year interval. If he plans on following the owners manual for the oil change interval suggested there, them IMO Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w30 is the better choice.

A friend of mine lived and worked in Sheridan, Wyoming years ago. When he was living in Sheridan, he bought a new Mercedes from a dealer in Denver. My friend would only let the dealer in Denver do his oil changes on the new Mercedes. By the time he drove all the way down to Denver and then drove back to Sheridan, it was almost time for him to get another oil change!
