I know this isn't oil related, but you guys give good advice so I thought I'd ask anyways. I bought an edger off of amazon and I messaged the seller beforehand to verify the item because it showed the type that I wanted and he said it was. Naturally they give me the item that's the latest design even though it shows the old design in the picture. What are my options? I want my money back shipping and all. The best part is they discounted the price by like $20 bucks after I bought it.

Plead your case with Amazon and include the sellers messages.
I just returned some bulbs that Amazon said would fit the Transport but it didn't. Only the third return in several years I have had to do and the others were for damaged items.

That's what I did. I was hoping to talk to a live person, but I guess they got rid of that option.

You can get to that option, but in my experience you have to upgrade a few supervisor levels to get someone that gets the issue. Bob in India had a hard time understanding that I only received 1 of the 2 boxes my Borla exhaust came in, and the one that I did receive got the Ace Ventura treatment in transit.

Amazon has the best customer service you will find. That is the core value that has pushed them to such high loyalty. Amazon typically will give you a free return for items that are not as advertised.

It has a 2:1 gear ratio gear box so basically the engine turns twice as fast as the blade. Didn't work out good on my trimmers, so I'm going to assume the same thing here for this edger. Rpm is what gives you the nice clean cut.

Honestly I may just have to put a standard gearbox on it from an old trimmer I have that has a bad magneto. Apparantly these gearboxes are like $100.00. I don't think I'm going to be able to find one with the standard gearbox.

If it was sold or fulfilled through amazon you should have no problem. Call them at 1 (888) 280-4331. Choose returns. The private sellers sometimes give a little hassle getting you your refund or replacing the item. I always get good results by speaking with another person. I'm guessing that you're upset, make sure you tell them that. Good luck.

Used to, as far as Im concerned. At least amazon.ca support has gotten worse. Havent dealt with amazon.com in quite awhile but they were good. If dealing with offshore, be blunt..tell them what you want and why you dont want it anymore.

Been seeing a lot of miss represented items lately. I have personal experience with belts for my riding mower. The product description usually has something like this " Report incorrect product information." near the bottom. That was my case, getting wrong part, the second time, part was deliberately miss labeled. I filed a complaint against the vendor on that one.

They responded back and said well the part number on the listing matched the part number I sent you. So basically telling me to shove it. Oh and you can return it and you wont get your shipping costs back, plus we will charge you a 20 percent restocking fee. Sigh..... What [censored]. Time to call amazon.

If it wasn't fulfilled by Amazon, you'll have a harder time with a claim. Do you have it in writing that they were selling an older model? How do you prove its an older model? If the P/N is truly the same, they'll claim its the "same" item. Good luck!

I've always had great service from Amazon with order fulfilled by them.

P.S. it like ordering GW rat wrenches and hoping to get old stock made in Taiwan, likely all you'll get is made in China. They'll say its the same wrench, same quality, same.
