The weekend before Christmas, my 2002 Accord was hit by a guy in a truck. He slid on ice, and was dumbfounded that his 4WD didn't help. Anyways, the following Monday, I had the car towed to the body shop, and then called the Allstate (his insurance) to file a claim. Because of my wife not needing a car, I didn't take a rental. Fast forward to January 6th, and Allstate still hadn't sent an adjuster to look at the car. Many phone calls are exchanged, and I'm given nothing but excuses. Eventually, I told them if it was costing them money, they might move quicker, so I asked for a rental. Three days after getting the rental, they approved the repairs. I got the car back this weekend, and it looks better than before the wreck. The car was detailed inside and out. So I got to spend a week in a new Dodge Charger, and a nicer car than before the wreck. other than Allstate being horrible, I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

+ 1 when I lived in North Alabama the occasional ice storm we would have would bring every four wheel drive out onto the roads and right into the ditch.
Glad to hear it worked out for you with car repairs. I had Allstate for years till we had an accident, (someone ran a red light and hit my wife's car). Terrible experience with insurance to the point when it was finally said and done, I switched to a different company.

sorry to hear about the accident. my 2009 CRV was totaled a week ago for some guy driving a truck. he plowed into my ride when we were sitting at a stoplight. hope you did not get hurt. the way people drive it is getting very dangerous out there . sucks that it took that long for the adjuster to get to your car. should have had it towed somewhere that charged a daily rental fee and I am sure Allstate would have been quicker to act. glad you are happy with your ride.

It's too bad that they don't "Darwin" themselves in their

Be glad that you weren't hit by someone who is insured by the idiots at Progressive. That's the way that Progressive is, but all of the time. Nothing is a priority, they don't want to pay the bill at the body shop, they don't want to pay for the rental...

The first thing to do in a not at fault accident is to haul the car to a body shop and rent a car. The accruing costs.gets them moving every time

Ya, actually I find it feels smaller when driving than it looks. I don't use the HVAC as much, just leave it on the auto setting. Didn't really take me long to adapt to the "big screen" stereo controls. I do see it being something that becomes easier to use with time though.
