Would you use this filter? (Manufacturing defect, Champ PH500)

Dome end is caved in on one side. On a filter with a dome-end bypass it would go straight in the trash but I’m questioning this one because it appears to be a base-end combo valve.

Then again, it cost $1.35 and I have about 50 of them so maybe I’ll just cut my losses.

I wouldn't have even asked this question on such a cheap filter and you have 50 of them.. Cut it open and post the pics or toss it.
 
I wouldn't use it, anytime you have a dent, you risk a crack at the edges because the can is weakened by it. Not sure where you got them, but I'm surprised it couldn't be returned (prob. not worth it for $1.35)?

whats the difference between these and the ones they make for ACDelco? The ACDelco ones I've seen have metal end caps, but was wondering about the filtration paper as well.
