Would you do this trade?

I'd rather have a Challenger SRT8.
Or a Boss 302.

Heck...a Boss 302, a Ram 1500 Tradesman, and a Burgman Executive.

Would be a nice looking car with a more graceful top and headlights that didn't look like they came from a 2006 Kia Amanti. Even with better styling, I'd trade it, but not for an R8.* The color is beautiful though.

*Disclaimer: I would end up trading that car for something like a 1995 Bronco and some cash, so I am not the target market in the first place.

If you click here and scroll through the photos you will see one of the original window sticker. This car listed new less than a month ago for $222,675. I'm thinking this guy got hosed on the trade for the $187,000 Audi R8.

They made money on both ends on that guy.

Next month he'll likely have the R8 at a Porsche dealer.

I love the R8! In fact I'm driving one for a half hour this morning! (it cost me $150 from Exotic Car Tours here in Oakville) I can't wait! (that's why I'm up so early, I'm too excited to sleep)

Sounds about right other than maybe an AMG nothing depreciates like a GT. In 5 years lob the 1 off that price.

I parked next to the black version of that car last night when we went out to dinner.

A lot of the hedge fund guys around here trade every 3-4 months. But when your making $5m-$20m++ a year you don't care. The $30k you lose on the trade is about what a weekend in LV will set you back.

I know a salesman at the Porsche dealer and he says they don't consider you a good customer unless you buy 3-4 cars a year from them.

Different world.

Yup. The first generation of the Continental GTs are starting to approach relative "affordability" on the used car market, and IMO they are a heck of a bargain--if you get one that has been well-maintained.

A quick search on cars.com shows you can get 04 and 05 models in the $50,000 range.

That's what I'd like to get in the next 5-6 years: A nice pre-owned GT with around 60k to 80k miles on it with an impeccable service record.

You read my mind.

Any six-figure vehicle that starts with a "2" or greater better have a flybridge on it before I'm interested.
