Would you do this trade?

I guess "a few year old" is relative. The last year they sold them here was 2006, so that would make it 8 years old at least.

QP, you and I have been around BITOG for about the same number of years. Based on your handle, did you ever own/drive an Audi? I don't recall.

I'll be the rogue old snooty guy and opt for the Bentley.

If I'm looking at an R8, there's others in that genre I'd choose first. But I don't need a babe lure at this point.

I would have loved to have asked him what he "hated" about the car.

While I was sitting in the waiting area, he came out of the sales manager's office twice to get something from the car. I was about a dozen feet away and each time he opened the door the whole showroom was filled with the most magnificent smell of leather. You certainly didn't get that when you opened the doors on any of the new Audis.

Thank the fates for that! When I bought my Magnum, I told the salesman that if there was any leather smell in the car, I would refuse it. I despise that smell, its worse than dead skunk.

Maybe he did marry a 75 year old, and that is how he came to drive a Bentley.

Sure GT's are not very good cars or worth that much used, he probably just picked it up and is swapping it. Common.

I'd trade for a Ferrari 599 though, R8's a little to German for a mid engined car.

If your going to get a late model Bentley the one to get is the Arnage which cost $100k+ more than a GT new and it shows.

None.

I forgot 1 car that I didn't sit in until after I paid for it, that car was 1982 Supra with two-tone color Red on Black.

I didn't intend to buy any car at that time, but saw it on local dealer lot and loved it and bought it the same day.

After spending the weekend driving and riding in my client's new Continental GT ragtop I certainly feel it is one heck of a car.

Whisper quiet, super smooth, and outrageously powerful at ANY speed in ANY gear, this car is a fantastic machine that caters to the driver.

To each his own, I'd LOVE to have one...

Here it is. They don't have the pictures up yet. The color is what Bentley calls "Blue Crystal." Looking at the Carfax, it looks like the guy bought it in FL on April 19.

After doing a little Googling, I found the original pictures of this car at the dealership in FL.

You buy it because of how rich you are.

The Audi dealer has the price up now: $189,900.

If you click here and scroll through the photos you will see one of the original window sticker. This car listed new less than a month ago for $222,675. I'm thinking this guy got hosed on the trade for the $187,000 Audi R8.

Anytime you trade in a car with 300 miles on it, you're pretty much guaranteed to get hosed.
