a couple of drops of Type F ATF got mixed with DOT3 brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir?

The reason I ask is this:
I used a turkey baster to suction out a good bit of Type F ATF from the power steering reservoir on my wife's Expedition. After I finished that, I wiped down the turkey baster as well as I could & I used it to suction out old brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir.

Any potential for bad things to happen because of this???

Every manual for GM cars or trucks that I've read contains this clear admonishment:

"Even a few drops of mineral oil in the brake fluid reservoir will damage your braking system..."

If you wiped it down, and you were using the turkey baster to remove, not add fluid as you describe, it is my opinion that you are probably safe. The potential exists, but I feel is very small, that you caused any damage.

What you're talking about is cross contamination.

As I have warned quite a few times, NEVER use a Turkey Baster for more than one fluid.

Always use separate Turkey Basters for each INDIVIDUAL fluid and mark the bulbs with a Permanent Marker pen. Turkey Basters are just too cheap to not do so.

I would flush the brake system within a year just in case.
