Great thread.
I'll have to lump all the crappy tires together in a bunch.
General XP2000s on a RWD Beamer...wipeout in wet. BAD ride.
Goodyear Eagle GA oem on Audi and VWs, ok in dry, DANGEROUS IN WET.
Michelin MXV4+ TOTAL crap, I cannot believe people pay big money for these, I sold 1/2 my worn ones used and almost paid for the awesome SP5000 replacments. (still one of my favourites)
Pirelli P7000 garbage and very frequent sidewall bubbles, new P6 had this problem too.
I was quite suprised when my Potenza RE 950s were so bad in rain and dangerous in snow.
My wife had a new Dunlop SP A2 blow on at 50 our Quantum Syncro and she totaled the car.
Cheng-Shin motorcycle tire would squirrel badly. replaced with Bridgestone Spitfires and they saved my life.
Best ones:
My wife's Yoko 600 snows are going on their 4th season and have 8/32nds
Falken Ziex 512 is everything the Potenzas should have been.
Conti Extremes are incredible in snow, like a rallye tire, ZR rated and not expensive
Dunlop A2s are quiet and good in snow, probally used 20 of them, one blew out.
Dunlop SP5000s are super-high quality and great performance.
Mich Artic Alphin are incredible traction, but wear is bad.
Turanza H and Z are likely the best touring tire available, quality is unmatched.
PS in defense of Michelin, XGTs are pretty good. Sears sold a house Pirelli, the "GT" that was pretty bad.
