Huh? They have to "stay in the game" because there is no other World Cup to play in!

You guys need to do a bit of research, and open your eyes:

Thats just a few references. Many more out there.

I said very clear that "There was no evidences of corruption on officials in the field" and no match-fixing in WC tournaments.

If you have any evidence about a referee or a sideline flagman took some bribes and made some calls that changed the outcome of a match please post.

There were and will be some bad calls in any match because they are human after all.

Exactly what "evidence" do you want? A pic of a coach handing over a bag stuffed with wads of cash with a big $ Dollar sign stamped on it to the referees at center pitch?

Here, maybe this will suffice:

They claim that senior figures in the Ghanian FA said they could employ corrupt officials who would rig matches played by the national team.

The president of the country's football association allegedly agreed to sign a contract for the team to play in rigged matches in exchange for around £100,000 per match.

The claims cast a shadow over the country's World Cup success, after they drew 2-2 against Germany on Saturday.

Christopher Forsythe, a registered Fifa agent, was reported as saying that match-fixing is "everywhere" in football, and claiming that he could arrange rigged matched between Ghana and the UK.

Evidence like this: Tim Donaghy, the NBA referee who pled guilty in connection with a basketball betting scandal.

The one example you cited was local Ghana football, not World Cup matches. Anything can happen in any Africa country.

There is no evidence what-so-ever about any official on the field in any World Cup match took bribe or had ordered from higher up to fix the match or anything illegal to steer the match(es) to certain outcome.

What are your pick next round:
Brazil vs Chile - Brazil
Netherlands vs Mexico - Netherlands
Colombia vs Uruguay - Uruguay
Costa Rica vs Greece - Costa Rica
France vs Nigeria - France
Argentina vs Switzerland - Argentina

Group G and H didn't finish but my guess:
Germany vs Algeria or Russia - Germany
Belgium vs USA - USA

Did you miss the "everywhere" part?

We should agree to disagree about this whole corruption with International Football.

Christopher Forsythe is a Ghana football official and a registered FIFA agent, he may/may not involved in matches fixing in Ghana.

Anybody can boasts anything, you believe those possible criminals but I don't until more concrete evidences are presented.

My antenna in the attic can get Univision station(and most stations on mount Wilson at Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles County) about 50 miles away.

We're in round of 16, most likely we will meet Belgium. We lost 0-1 to Gemany and Portugal won 2-1, but we have better goal difference so we advanced to next round.

The evidence of match fixing by Ghana so USA can advance to next round:

Ghana own goal in the first half, and Ghana goal keeper deflected the ball instead of just catching it, the ball dropped at the feet of Ronaldo who was all alone and easily put the ball into the back of the net.

Then, the true purpose of the world cup is to see which is the most corrupt country in the world???

With that in mind, I think the final is going to be Mexico vs. Ukraine

First elimination match was very dramatic. Chile had excellent chance to win in extra time but without luck so the ball hit crossbar and bounced to the side, if the ball was 1" lower then it should bounce into the far left net. They lost to Brazil in Penalty shoot out by a score of 3-2.

Watching this match is very hard to say match-fixing is possible.

Quater final prediction:

Brazil vs Colombia
France vs Germany
Netherlands vs Costa Rica
Argentina vs USA

Mexico should win the match against Netherlands, they dominated most of the match and was ahead 1-0 until the last 2-3 minutes of regulation period. Then Netherlands scored at 88' and penalty kick 2-3 minutes into extra time.

Great game between Netherlands and Mexico. I was having breakfast at Denny's and you could hear the whole kitchen go nuts when Mexico scored. My Facebook feed was full of posts of people going for Mexico, with the lone "Go Holland" from my high school band teacher who is Dutch.

Mexico had it and got sloppy and let the game go.

4:00 PM EDT today we face Belgium do or die match. Winner advances to quarterfinal loser goes home.

Coach Jurgen Klinsmann believes USA has good chance to win Belgium, even though we lost 2-4 to them in 2013 in a friendly match.

Go USA !!!

Oh well so much for for that prediction.

We could equalized, Dempsey had a chance to score about 8-10' from the goal line 5-6 minutes remaining of second extra period, but Belgium goal keeper made a good save. We also had several other chances to score but it didn't happen.

Well, we lost but I'm proud of our team for their fighting spirit. All USA players should held their heads high, nothing to be ashamed of. They did better than many teams such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, England ... and especially Ghana.

We will do better in 2018 World Cup.

We should have lost in regular time - they outplayed us, but Tim Howard kept us alive. We didn't pick it up and really get going until we were down 0-2. Amazing that we kept at it and almost equalized. Stayed exciting for longer than most would have thought.
