Wolf Spider infestation.

Anyone here have problems with wolf spiders? I am renting a 2 year old house and there are wolf spiders all over my bathroom. I have arachnophobia so I either kill them or put them in a jar with other wolf spiders and watch them fight. Last year, I found the mother spider and killed it. This year, i cannot find the mother spider and there are baby and adult spiders everywhere. This morning, one was in my shower. As I stepped in, the spider went in defense mode (thorax is up and two of the front legs were up).

I know they're not poisonous but I heard they have a nice bite to them and temporary swelling. There are no windows in my bathroom....where could they be coming from?


EDIT: I was researching online and you can keep a wolf spider as a pet. These suckers get huge!! All you need is insects(crickets) and a moist sponge for water.

sounds like I was lucky, on a side note when I lived in maine I killed a mother wolf spider in the bathroom, and then killed all the little baby spiders. It was disgusting.

I was thinking of making a hair-spray-and-lighter flame thrower like in the movie "Arachnaphobia".
 
I was letting one live in our bathroom last fall because we let the farmer down the road use our field for corn, and cow poop brings in the flies, and well... the spider took care of them.... Until it bit me in the shower last October.

i have them in my mobile home i recently bought among mice i like the spiders though but not the mice , i have never had any problems with a spider and i dont kill those i feel they help keep the ants and the annoying flies away, only thing is they dont live very long

Gross. I couldn't stop watching but that was kind of nasty.

I'm not afraid of many things, but I do NOT like insects and spiders.

There's another video on YouTube where someone has a mother wolf spider with babies in a cup, then they shake it. It's pretty funny, but there's an acronym that implies a four letter word in it, so I won't post the link.

Yeah, I too recall vividly the first time I learned the "Mama Wolf" lesson. I unwittingly swatted Mama in the middle of the den, only to be confronted by an exploding circle consisting of what seemed to be several thousand micro babies sprinting in all directions. I got most of them, but. . .

Yup, nasty surprise ftw. *Shudder*
 
Wolf spidere are good . There are big ones around here. Spiders are hard to control with residual poison because they walk with their bodies above the floor.

Oh my gosh. I have a large widescreen monitor and right when I pressed "Page 2", your picture came up and scared the crud out of me.
