I just placed my rock auto order. Wix 51042 was about 4.80 and delco gold upf44 was about 7.40, i ordered 6 of the delcos. Did i pick the better filter or waste the extra money? These are going on a '04 silverado 5.3.

The efficiency is about the same from what i have read but delco advertises superior flow which may or may not just be them trying to sell their product.

They don't make their own filters, I believe champ labs does for them.

Quite possibly an E-core design

I doubt AC Delco UPF Golds are eCore. The UPFs are probably better than the standard WIX due to being full synthetic media.

Your choice of the UPF44 was money well spent as you got premium filters. What money is the issue, $14? How many gallons of gas is that and how many miles can you go on $14? It's nothing. The UPF may be built like an Amsoil or Royal Purple. When you get them take some pictures to show please and look in the center tube for evidence of mesh behind the tube holes. You got a great deal, $12 filters for $7?

Be looking out for me to upload pictures within the next week or 2. Wont be using them for awhile as i just changed my oil with pz ultra platinum and a mobil 1 filter.

You should have posed this question prior to buying them.
Personally, I prefer Wix over AC Delco.

The UPF Gold is AC Delco's premium oil filter. $7 each is a good deal IMO.

Can anybody find detailed accurate efficiency ratings for the ac delco upf44? Rock auto says 98% single pass at 25-30 microns, the ac site says 98% multipass at 25-30 microns. What would this be at like 10 microns?

Obviously the info on AC Delco's website is more believable.
