Does Wix Filters make TRD USA oil filters and does Denso make TRD Japan filters?

I couldn't find anything on TRD except those that vend the brand. One of them needs to proof read their oil filter info listing:

Constructed of a sturdy steel outer shell, the oil filters feature staggered short pleat air filters for better fuel management. A combination by-pass and anti-drain back valve allows for good lubrication during cold-start without allowing dirty oil back into the engine after shutdown. Additionally, the less than 2-psi pressure drop offers better engine protection.
some vendor that needs a proof reader

edit: This just caught my eye

Hmmm ...I'm aware of only ONE filter that uses a combo bp/ADBV. I wonder if there is more than one...

Shhhh....don't say the "e" word...

On PureOil.com, the cut away diagram for the P+ claim combo ADBV and BPV. Altho I have not seen one in person or on the web cut away...

Could the TRD be a Pure Oil Later? I hope so. I heard Denso bought a Purolator plant.

This is news to me. Then again, I don't use Premium Plus Purolators. I wonder if this is a favorable feature of this filter. It's not regarded as a reliable aspect of ecores

There are two TRD filters, either made in USA (the white can/red lettering if memory serves) or Japan (red can/white lettering).

One of the Japanese-made OEM-Toyota filters (the -B5) has a one-piece bypass and ADBV. It also has the fiberglass matt media. This media has excellent flow through properties, IMO. It is possible that this note refers to a similarly made TRD filter.

I saw a cut open picture of the US-made TRD filter that did indeed look like a Wix filter. It had the Wix-type BPV on the threaded end of the filter.

The newer Japaneese made Denso are realy unique in their design and material! They are truly made by Denso. The USA made Denso's are made at a plant that used to be co-owned by Puralator adn NipponDenso and I think they went by PuroDenso or something like that. Denso bought the facility outright from Puralator a year or two ago. They used to have the Puralator long oval oil inlet holes. You also see a lot of Thailand made Denso oil filters. These look like they are on par with Puralator or Wix but have the pre-lubed filter that is sealed with shrink rap! I am refering to gasoline engine filter that come in a red adn white Toyota box. I have no idea who makes the TRD filters!

Denso does make the TRD Japan filters...the sad thing is that they're the same as the OEM 90915-2000x filters (not the cost-reduced 90915-YZZBx line) but with the flashier outer can and the price jacked up big time.

All my old TRD USA catalogs circa 1996 always said they were a division of Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc.

TRD (an unfortunate acronym) has been around for long time. It was formerly TOSCO in the 1960s and 70s and has always been part of Toyota since before it was TRD.
