i go to the dealership and buy 5 at a time and they are somewhere in between 5-6 dollars, Usually my dealership has coupons on there websites for the parts department too.

The filters are VERY well made for what they are.

There really are people that counterfeit oil filters? I had no idea, usually people counterfeit expensive items, not inexpensive items.

Google it ... there are many instances of counterfeit oil filters. The Chinese counterfeited high volume items, even if they aren't that expensive for the genuine article. Folding knives is also a big one ... I think I have a few myself.

Yes... people will counterfeit anything... including (but not limited to) clothing, automotive parts, computer networking equipment, computer software, and even toothpaste.

Why are those the only brands you will use?

Did you ever think of FRAM ULTRA????

IMO better for the $ and last lot longer and better filtration.

Even Fram Tough Gaurd is you want to save a few $

but I really like FRAM ULTRA

Im just wondering why your them 2 brands?

do you have lots of them?

+1 !

K&N HP-1004 for me.

The tight filter access door makes it a PAIN to remove the oem. K&N's nut removal system, plus the fact that it too is a fantastic filter, have me sold.

No issue to speak of, as there was none using POne. Many great filters out there though.

Could Hyundai filters made in Korea in fact be WIX?? I've got a couple in stock here at work & they look like WIX in side with spiral core. The WIX air filter I brought for my car was made in Korea.
Look like a quality filter, better than some of the Denso made in Thailand I've seen.

The Hyundai OEM filter is a quality piece of work:

Hyundai Filter Cutaway

which Hyundai manufactures themselves in Korea.

The Wix are also well made and it is really a toss-up between them.

I'll stick to the OEM filters I been getting from a local Hyundai dealer as they are nice quality - not going to chance while under warranty. Plan on using them after warranty too.

It's not a WIX clone since it doesn't have a base end by-pass valve.
I'd definitely go with WIX over Hyundai.

I know this an older thread, but I just have to comment. I run a fast lube shop, so I see lots and lots of filters. the Hyundai OEM filter is one tough SOB. I know this is unscientific, but Hyundai filters will not crush in my hydraulic crusher.

most filters crush down to about 1/4 their original size, Hyundai's only go the 3/4-2/3. I know that has to do with the can more than anything. but I've been so impressed with them, I am tempted to buy some to run on my civic si with a k20 in it.
