I'm going to try the "every other oil change" for my filter as Honda now recommends this on some of its models (up to 20,000 total miles on the filter)and there have been numerous posts here about filters going 10-15,000 miles being cut open and looking fine. My question is are WIX/NAPA GOLD filters a good choice for 10,000-12,000 mile change intervals? (I'll be changing the oil at 5,000-6,000 mile intervals and the filter every other time) Pete C.--what do you think? Are Wix filters tested for this duration? Thanks!

Personally, I'm going to try a double filter interval on my Saturn next time. I'm going to use an oversize Wix. (And, gasp!, I'm going to ignore the dirty oil left in the filter.)

No, you're not. You know as well as I do that the dirty oil will make you uneasy for the entire OCI. To shame.

Email me - saving it now, but it's not cheap. I reckon I did a lot of work to break-in my oil, so $8 a quart is not out of line, IMHO.

Waiting for orders...
