WIX Filters (Black vs White)

I just noticed that on the O'Reilly website that they show a white w/ black lettering 57060 filter. Last year when I purchased a 57060 filter from O'Reilly, the filter was black w/ a label affixed.

Has there been a change made recently w/ the 'standard' grade WIX filters?

The 51315 is still white as of January 2017

Yeah I thought Wix was making them all black now, too! I wonder why that particular part number remained white

Keep in mind that sites use stock photos, which aren't always updated. When is the last time you used a white 57060? And do you remember the date code?

I've never seen a white WIX filter, so that was why I thought it was strange. Even prior to 2010 when I was buying 51522 filters for my '04 Silverado 2500HD, the filters were black.

I've seen some. Although over five years have passed, the Wix for my old Audi was white. I'm not sure, but I'm under the impression that the 57356 is also white.

The 57356 is black.

Completely random on what and when they are white. My guess is that it is certain manufacturing lines get white paint.

I've seen only one Wix white filter, it was for hydraulics and did not have a bypass in it.

It's been updated then. The picture on the Wix site still shows a white filter, but I haven't actually looked at one in person for a very long time.

It doesn't say anything like "Pro-Tec" on the white filters? Wix makes a series of white filters, which is their basic, economy filter, below the black Wix filters.

I have a white 57002 but I believe it's from a while back. I think 2015.

nope. Some "real" Wix filters really are white cans, like the 51315

I've had a few white Wix filters for my 7.3, and now I see them going back to black. Who knows why, does it really matter? Sure they're still the same exact thing on the inside!

The colors seem rather random. Many of the industrial filters are white, the 51243 that is used on my grandmothers John Deere tractor is white.
