Wix filter same as Mahle?

Hi all

Bought this from rockauto. I know Wix is part of Mann but not associated with Mahle. However the filter I got has both Wix and Mahle on it. Is this legit?

Mahle sourcing from M+H perhaps or both sourcing from the same supplier. I'd imagine some companies that make filters source from different builders to complete their lineup.

My guess is there are partnerships all over the filter industry. A while back I bought some O'Reilly Microgard oil filters for my BMW and they were re-packaged Europe-produced Mahles. The same P/N I bought most recently was no longer Mahle and is made in Korea.

Gotta be impossible to make a filter for every single application.
