Wix filter numbers for 2005 Civic??

The stock filter number is 51356 and I am currently using a 51344. I am thinking about going with the 51568, seeing it has even more filter media than the 51344. Does anybody see a problem running this filter??

Also, I can't seem to find anybody that stocks the newer (red ADBV) filters. The ones I have bought so far all have the black ADBV.

Get the Napa gold. It's a Wix with the red adbv

the napa gold (fairly new black cannister) 1356 i put on my civic had a black ADBV... made in gastonia, nc.

red ADBV even more recent?

all the ones (Napa Gold) I have been getting are the white cannisters with the blalck ADBV. I believe the black ADBV is Nitrile while the red one is silicon....

I am also tempted to try this filter on my 1997 Integra. I have about 5 different filters I use and really don't need a 6th.

I went to the WIX web site. The 51568 has a bypass setting of 16 psi compared to 8-11 psi of the 51344 you mentioned. I don't know why they list a range for one and a single number for the other. I also don't know what the Honda spec. is for bypass. Does anybody know?

I was thinking of using the 51344 on my Odyssey next time.

i once bought a wix 51344 and it had a black ADBV valve. before that i always used wix 51334, which always have an orange ABDV.

sorry to bring this back from the dead, but im also currently running a 51356 on my 04 Civic Si. If I were to switch to the larger 51344, would I have to add extra oil when doing a change? I currently use 5qrts with the 51356. Thanks

I have been using the 51344 on my 2003 Civic LX (1.7L). When I went from the Pure One equivalent of the 51356 to the 51344, my oil capacity went from 3.5 qts to just under 4.0 qts.

YMMV though.

I just put a Wix 51344 on my '95 Civic and it took somewhat more oil than the 1334, less than a pint additional. Probably around 8 to 12 ounces more...
