I noticed the Fram Ultra XG2 has a bypass pressure of 12 psi And the all styles of the Wix filters have a pressure of 23 psi and the same flow rate. The Motocraft is 18-20 psi if I remember correctly.
My questions are:
Has anyone here used the Fram XG2 and a Wix on a Ford 24 valve 5.4 engine?
And if anyone has, did one filter seem quieter than the others on cold starts or on really cold mornings?
I plan to stop using Motocraft oil filters. The next filter I use will likely either be the Wix/Napa Gold or the Fram Ultra. I think for my truck and miles per year, the silicone ADBV is the more important than the type of media, so it will likely come down to price unless one is much quieter at start.
