Box mentions Gastonia but does not say made in USA
number on top of filter is 061206 (a date code?) followed by E1

They're made in Gastonia, NC. The date on top, I suspect, is the date it was manufactured. The crop of Napa Gold 1356's that I have (same filter as yours) are stamped 053006e2.

June 12 2006 the E= mfg. line 1= 1st shift, May 30 2006 E= mfg. line 2= 2nd shift etc etc. Unless it is labled as manufactured/made in XXXXX, all are made in the USA.
