Since when did the Wix 51348 start being manufactured in China?! Nitrile ADBV, not silicone ….DOM 09/26/21 This one is from Amazon, the ones at Oreillys are different. Not sure how I feel about this

Ran to my local oreillys after receiving the Chinese wix. All theirs were made in the USA and either had the purolator baseplate or ones with smaller holes. All were made either in 21 or 22 and all had silicone valves

They have the same exact filter number?

The 51348 was my go-to filter when we had a ‘98 Sienna. I worked for Dana Corp for part of that time so was partial to Wix. The 1MZ-FE engine has its filter pointed downward and using any filter with a nitrile rubber ADBV was not an option because the first start of the day was dry, because the filter was empty. It’s sad to think someone is manufacturing a 51348 with nitrile rubber because that was its most important feature to me.

We put 329,700 miles on that van. What a jewel.

They still make them with silicone, at least the ones in the USA.
