I have always used a Wix 51064 in my Kubota BX tractor but a few weeks ago I went to O'Reilly's and they gave me a 51334. They may have given me this by mistake or substituted it, I'm not sure.

I just checked the Wix specs on the web and the two filters are very close in all respects except one, bypass pressure. The 51064, which is called out when you do a filter lookup has a bypass pressure of 16 while the 51334 is 8-11.

So is the 51334 a suitable substitute for the 51064. Should I return the 51334 and make sure I get the 51064.

I don't think it is necessary to return the filter. It will ensure you get oil to the engine more easily but...if you are really bugged take it and get the one spec'd for the engine.

Whatever makes you sleep better. I would use what you have.

Go to the WIX website and look up what filter they say for your Kubota RX. If they also show the 51334, then I wouldn't sweat it.

The filter's bypass valve setting is more dependent on the filter's design than on the vehicle's design.
