Good evening fellow Bitogers on this soft Friday evening in Central Florida.
Phase one of resurrection begins on my 1996 Chevy Truck. I pulled it up to my shop, popped open the hood where I discovered a huge rats nest, (rat condo would be more like it as it completely covered the motor and filled the engine bay. I cleaned it out with a rake, some long wire rods and a leaf blower). Apparently, like Elvis, all the critters had "left the building" during transit, but they left their home and all it's contents behind, (I took the tiny rat fridge to the dump but am keeping the tiny matching love seat and chairs).
It seems that while they were lounging under the hood, they enjoyed snacking on wiring insulation. The most popular wires seem to be the ones running to the CSFI. While they didn't eat entirely through them, they came pretty close as on some, there is only one or two strands of wire holding it together.
My plan is to head to a local junkyard and try to find a new wiring set up, but have no idea what this wiring set up is called. Does anyone have any idea what I can call this so that when I visit said junkyard I can sound intelligent to the man behind the counter, (instead of saying something like "I need the wiring thingamadoo that runs to the whatchamacallit.")
What I was hoping to find is a wiring diagram or schematic that identified all wires leading to and from the fuel injection. Anyone have any idea where I can find such a thing.
Said vehicle is a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado half ton truck, 305 V-8, automatic transmission and yes, it appears to have the CSFI fuel injection system.
Thanks in advance
