hey guys I'm at a loss. I built a shed, box shelter for my generator. I want to splice in an external kill switch for safety (basic on off switch) When I opened the covers I was expecting 2 maybe 3 wires. There are 6 wires coming out the back of the switch.
Can someone tell me how to do this? ...like what wire gets spliced to what on the gen switch.

Thanks in advance!

All you have to do to stop the motor is to ground the spark plug. You could probably drill a hole in the back of the spark plug boot and glue a wire in so that it touches the plug electrode. Then wire your switch to ground. To undo the mod all you would need is a new plug wire boot.

That may be a possibility. I'm afraid of messing with the spark plug boot. But it may be how I go.

A switch in series with the oil pressure switch is probably the simplest - and make it a push to make with no latch type of switch - just remember to then actually go and turn the key too - seems the hour meter is fed off the battery so if you forget to turn the key battery may die if left in the on position long enough.....

I have 2 fans installed that supposed to move 2000 cfm total. I'm still experimenting with that
So george you were right to call out the ventilation based on that first picture. Here's some better ones for those that are interested. The fans and vents keep the temperature between 85 to 110 when its all closed up.
No more than a hot summer day.

and its very much quieter. At the box when closed it 75+ decibles. At the closest point of my house about 65 db. Inside the house you can hardly hear it. At my closest neighbor it's 60 db. Just about the ambient decibel.
