In the winter (December, January, February, March), I use a set of Anco Winter blades. This will be their third winter of use.

However, my truck is garaged. That's likely why my wiper blades are lasting a long time.

I bought a set of these a few months ago. Just wondering, do yours smell like mold? Ii may sound strage, but right out of the package, mine had a strong moldy smell. On warm days, the whole inside of the car takes on this smell too. Just seeing if anyone else has had this happen?

I get a set of cheap rubber wrapped winter blades at the start of the season every year.
Nothing lasts winter or summer very long for me either.

But I have not tried the super elite types. I figure 3-4 changes of new cheap ones will work better overall than one ultra set would, over the years.

The thing is I install Trico Teflons and Neoforms for customers all the time, and people don't replace them until they rip or get damaged. Mine will go 6 months then start performing horribly. But maybe I'm more picky.

The Festiva I just bought has the "curved beam style" .. not sure on the brand think Rainx but I'll be getting those from now on. They don't seem to flap in the wind like normal blades do. Don't really have that problem on the Escape but may get them just in case.

Just wanted to update my previous post and say that I finally retired the Weatherbeaters. In today's insane amount of snow and also with the cold weather they were getting very chattery. They still worked perfectly fine but it was hard to talk over them now that the temperature has dropped below freezing. The new Icons work great.

I wipe my blades down with 303 when I install them.

2+ years on the Trico Neoform on the wife's Tribute. Just bought a Buy 1 get 1 free on Anco Contour to put on my Company Car-Impala from O'Reilly's. I hope they are as good as the Neoforms. Couldn't pass up the B1G1 deal. $16.99 for 2 blades instantly.

They are inexpensive at Amazon--maybe about $12 per blade. It's a good deal for a blade that will probably last longer than whatever car it gets put on.

well i used some that are no longer made then tried everything including the high dollar bosche.... i grabbed some triple-edge because they are silicone.... i put a tripledge on the driver's sides of both vehicles and a regular anco or pylon on the passenger side.....the silicone/tripledge is still good, but had to replace the regular wipers.....after about 6 months.....so i have to say that silicone is superior---and the water beads on that side of the windshield........the downside is that walmart wuit selling them---i think the infomercial-like tv ads made the tripledge look gimmicky---i just bought them because of the silicone.

PIAA sells silicone windshield wipers and don't advertise them on TV.

You have to get them from parts catalogs such as tirerack.com and they are expensive.

i went two years on honda oem blades... i recently decided to replace them with rain x but they wouldnt work so i went back to honda oem and they were cheaper and work fine

I meant the tripledges were on tv but they were pushing the triple edge and not the fact that it was silicone. I only see PIAA in magazines.

Walmart carries Tripledge blades.

if you use rain x with at least 3 coats you really dont need to use your wippers unless your in traffic. i put rainx on all the windows and the head and tail lights. that with liquid glass wax and nothing sticks to my car
