Last year i bought rainx winters and rainx weatherbeaters. Worst blades ive had...i used anco winter blades last year and they were perfect. Im looking for recommendations on new non winter wipers. Preferably cheaper that work well. Does anyone know if regular anco blades are as good as their winter ones? Im open to suggestions, these rainx have to go...thanks!!

The Anco blades on my truck lasted well for about 6-8 months and are pretty well shot now. As far as other brands, I have heard NAPA brand are good as well as Bosch, they are just a little higher priced.

Regular Ancos are a solid choice. Bosch MicroEdge work great, just not for very long. I've actually had pretty good luck with Duralast wipers from AutoZone, just not a fan of them being made in China.

I would leave the winter blades on year round. They do a good job due to their heft. I replace them around October so I'm good to go for the winter. I use Rain-X on the windshield so they don't get a lot of use. Try it.

After using the beam style a few times, I went back to the Bosch MicroEdge before this last winter rains were done. Will see how they do now that the temps have gone up.

I've had great results with the Valeo Ultimate all year around on all the vehicles in my signature, going a year strong on all the Mazdas. Depending on the rake of the windshield and curvature, the wiping performance may not be up to par versus a conventional non-beam style blade. The Valeo were loads better than the Goodyear beam-style that I have previously used from Costco, the goodyear ones chattered too much after only a short while.

I've found that the OE Toyota blades (not the service replacement ones) work great if the inserts are replaced periodically.

If you still have the original blade assemblies, I would highly suggest this route.

Don't know if you Canucks have Sam's Club, BJ's or Costco's, but if you do just buy the best wipers that they carry, usually around $10, and change them as necessary.

I am a fan of the Rain-X Latitude Beam Wiper Blades for year'round use. Although minimal, all wiper blades need some maintenance just as any other item on you vehicle. I have my preferences along with a windshield treatment such as R-X Glass treatment. But, use any product that you like such as AquaPel etc.

That is a great choice if your wipers never met road salt.

Anyway, I spend the extra and buy Bosch Icon, the ones that only have the adapter to fit your specific type of wiper arm.

If the assemblies are too damaged, then order a set of OE assemblies (do not let the dealer sell you a pair of those service replacement blade assemblies that cannot accept inserts).

They cost about $45/pair on that year Corolla, which is about the same as what pair of Bosch Icons would cost you. Plus, replacement inserts are only about $7/ea going forward.

Sure, on some models, such as my 2011 Prius - they are about $75/pair. However, you have to ask yourself - do you want the wipers to work properly? If so, then pay the price.
