It will be -40 in Saskatoon today. I was recenty in Calgary where is was -5 F and a can of Coca Cola blew up on the passenger seat. Enough already!

I was really hoping that it was going to be a mild February this year like last year in my area. We had many days in the 5-10C range and it even hit 18C on Feb 28! I have been staying in Niagara on the Lake, which has historically much warmer and less snowy weather than where I live in Guelph. But this has turned out to be the coldest and snowiest winter in the Niagara region in decades 🤦‍♂️ For the first time in my lifetime the river below Niagara Falls is completely frozen over. It looks beautiful but it’s bad for my business (our biggest money maker is the walking tour that includes a ticket for the boat cruise below the falls, and this year the boat will probably open at least a month later than usual)

I would just be happy with one sunny day and 5C but that’s not in the two week forecast. Today is an especially cold day for this area:

-20F this morning. We have a similar warm up coming next week that you do. 40 will feel absolutely amazing after this nasty cold. I'm hoping we are done with double digit negatives now but here in MN you never know how March will be.

Fun Fact... -40 is the point of convergence between F and C.
but to my Celsius Challenged Countryman, I shall do the conversions....

I'm still going to post my conversions, but I got the feeling a few days in, that something wasn't right...either the temps the OP Posted were already in Fahrenheit, or that's one heck of a swing!

Well, you'll only do that once! Atleast clean up was a bit easier with it all frozen!
Consistently below -20C during the day gets a bit old if you are in and outside a lot.
Personally I think something like -15-20C nights and -5-8C sunny days are the best winter weather there is, sets up the groomers on the ski hill every night, and the snow doesn't pack up and freeze. Snowmobile runs clean and cool too. Kids were towing each other into a jump sending airs into 3' of powder over some small trees yesterday, living the winter dream!

Very icy winter for me in NY. I was away and we had 3" then freezing rain. Ice thick enough you can't kick through into the snow. Temps all week in the single's overall...I need Spring! And I don't even have Vermont mud season to deal with!

Here in the Carolinas we will be in the 30's tomorrow and Thursday with a 49% chance of snow.

If I could find a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread, I could retire.

one of the most severe winter since forever. the last time i saw a winter like this was in the early eighties. we have snow almost to the roof of the house. the Tempo car shelter is buried. and it is cold every single day. i think there will still be patches of snow in late May early June this year.

Thanks, but yes I toggled the temps to deg F. :)

At least the frozen cola should be easy enough to clean up off the leather seats.
I was thinking the same thing.
You drop your guard for a moment and you get a burst can of soda.
>>Not only is soda bad for your health...it's bad for your car!
At least Snaggs gets a easier cleanup.
