All you need to do.

I run SeaFoam in all my 2-stroke ethanol based fuel and don't do anything before winter storage (store them wet with whatever's left in the tank). Haven't had a problem yet. I only buy 1/4 gal of 2-stroke fuel at a time so the fuel that's left in the tank is purchased in the fall. I only run Shell gas in my 2-strokes.

I bet that the vast majority do nothing with two stroke engines for off season storage. I know I don't.

Any engines with float bowl carbs are run dry and put away. Diaphragm carbed engines just get put away. In the spring, I'll add some fresh fuel (regular E10) and fire them up. Forty years and 15 to 20 two cycle engines with no issues, is sufficient proof for me.
