This is actually completely untrue.

I know a guy who is in charge of winter tire testing at Transport Canada. It is actually a big issue. A large portion of winter tires with the 3PMSF rating are worse than the top all seasons in winter conditions.

Does Transport Canada publish these results? I want to buy some of these all seasons that are better than mediocre snows.

It is whatever is on this site:

I got Michelin X-Ice X3 on 10/31/2012. Warranty says 6 Years / 40,000 Miles, We advise removing Winter tires off at 5/32". Currenty has 24,718 miles on it and plenty of treads left. Still the best tires compare to All Seasons on my other cars. If the tires are still looking good, changing tires before warranty expires (5 yrs) is dumb and waste of money. But if you have the doh, it's your flow.
