Windshields that scratch too easily....

I agree with safelite glass being garbage. I went through 6 windshields from them in a year on my old 89 f150. They tried to blame it on a bent frame or bad cab mounts, the frame was straight and the cab was too and rot free......

The new one has a layer of sound isolating material between the inner and outer layers of glass so I wonder if it affects the hardness of it vs a conventional windshield. I have comp on it though so when it gets bad enough I'll just call up the insurance since there's no deductible on the windshield.
The layer of plastic between the glass is to control jagged pieces of glass in the event of a broken windshield. The "sandwich" has been around for decades.

Just called Safelite today for a windshield for my V. I told them hit my insurance for PPG glass, no knock offs go on my cars.
