I received a small rock chip in my F150. Is there a chip repair kit that stands above the others. I've used a coupla kits that varied in quality (some left some of the crack, another completely removed the crack and one left some crack and eventually failed and new longer cracks appeared) Thanks for advice. Have a pro do it. Some come out and you can always drop by a shop and wait.
But this can be surprisingly cheap.
Many insurance companies will pay for it, to prevent a much more costly full winsdshield replacement if a crack starts and continues.
At least check it out, first.
It will not be perfect, but good to very good.
If you try it yourself, you can be disappointed, and ruin the chances of the next guy getting it right.

Agreed. Check with your insurance. In most cases there should be no deductible for rock chip repair.

+1 ..... have had small rock chips in various windshields a number of times....and my insurance took care of it with no cost to me.

My experience doing this is not the kit but, the syringe that u use. The syringe is separated for two stages. You use the first stage by pulling the plunger a quarter of the way to clear any air bubbles out for a period of time. Then, you pull the plunger of the syringe further for the second stage. It didn't work and only mended part of the crack I compensated and used the second stage. I bypassed the first stage. I did not do the first stage at all. I had to redo everything. Starting at the beginning with the longer syringe though.

I forgot to put glass coverage on a car, and it got a chipped windshield. I bought a 10 dollar kit from walmart and did it myself with very good results. Just read the instructions. I think it was called fix-a-chip.
