The driver front regulator on my 93 300D had a few teeth worn down so it didn’t work properly. I pulled it and checked the motor. The teeth were fine, but the whole thing needs grease.

I have a variety of grease. I was thinking a high moly whatever I have. Schaefer’s 229 or one of those, in my grease gun. But I could also use clear super lube grease, lubriplate M1 grease, amongst others.

Also, there are Teflon sliders that are part of the regulator that connect with the window. What grease is good for those? Im thinking super lube clear grease with ptfe…. I think I have silicone and suynthetkc petroleum types.

Recommendations??

Well I ended up using super lube petroleum grease with PTFE on the plastic/metal sliders, and Schaefer Synforce 219 green grease on the motor and regulator jaws.

I cleaned the motor first:

Then lubed it:

And lubed the rest, some before install, some after so I didn’t get too messy.
