Window Cleaning

I used to be a detailer for a fix it shop, so didn't have the time to really work at getting windows streak-free (had to use bulk Windex concentrate

). Now that I clean both my cars with more attention to details, what can I do to get them perfect if that is even possible?

I have Invisible Glass in spray cans, and use a 6 inch squeegee/scrubber on the inside of windows. I still get streaks like crazy, and are even more noticeable when we turn on the defrosters on when it's a cold startup. My windows are tinted, but my wife's car's are not. Would the Anti Fog help any? I used it years ago in a car I'd let people smoke in

and never worked for me because of that. Any suggestions?

Best thing I've found is Invisible Glass and a microfiber towel.

I agree with the Stoners & MF. Sometimes a damp MF towel and a dry one to follow up with work wonders with no cleaner at all.

Yes, use a clean MF after using a cleaner and MF. I believe there is something to do with plasticziers (sp), coming off the dash.

i make my own streakless solution
50% dist water
35% alcohol
15% vinegar

works great!!!

We are off to get my wife's car from her mom's , and I may stop at the zone for a MF towel. I had one but it was for my glasses, and was only the size of a washcloth.

I like the aerosol foam cleaners... spray that onto a crumpled newspaper (not onto the glass as it gets everywhere else), wipe around, then wipe clean with a microfiber towel.

Works better than anything else... im fed up with trying to use paper towels, even the cheap ones.

I have found that spraying whatever you use on the towel, and not he glass, and using very little, usually results in a very streak-free windscreen.

I went to AZ yesterday and bought the new spray bottle of Invisible Glass, and 3 pack of MF towels. They are in my car and I'll see where exactly I need to clean more aggressively since I work tonight third shift. Then I can know where to touch up tomorrow morning. Thanks for the advice.

Credit where credit is due:

The GM stuff in the spray can works even better than Stoner's Invisible Glass. I've never seen anything work better, I personally think that it is way better than invisible glass. GM's opticlean wiper fluid is excellent as well.

After 2 intake manifold repairs and countless other needless repairs...the above two products are the only reason I'll darken the door of a GM dealership for quite some time.

I use water with a very small amount of soap and newsprint. Works very well for me. That is way I was told to do it when I worked in a gas station a zillion years ago.

I like spray-way glass cleaner better then invisible glass. it seems to cut the crud better and has less streaking.

MF and Vroom glass cleaner from Target.

Stoner's Invisible Glass and a microfiber towel are a close second.

However, my new favorite is DP Krystal Vision Glass Cleaner & a Microfiber towel.

I use the Invisible Glass for regular cleaning, but on a window that hasn't been cleaned in awhile I'll clean it a few times with lots of Windex or whatever and newspaper. You need to dissolve the crud and get it off without leaving a film behind, which might take a fair amount of whatever solvet you're using. A bit of the best cleaner on a very dirty window will just smear stuff around.

The armor all glass cleaner isnt bad and is tint safe for those of you not using 3M tint. I haven't had a problem in mine with it. I do tend to get more hazing on the inside however when I shine my dash
