Last year when I went to use the winch on my 2013 Commander I was not able to pull the line out in free spool, but it would power out slowly. Winter project was to disassemble and regrease. The old grease that came out was half sand, half asphalt. I'm guessing it has never been serviced. I cleaned it with gasoline and brake cleaner, the put it back with moly grease as that has been taking up space in my stash for years. Since it is easy to pull out now that I have broken the rust out of all of the mounting hardware I will take it out again next year and regrease. 3rd picture shows the 1 bushing that was peeling apart, that was replaced. I forgot to take any pictures of the reassembled parts for some reason. There is only 1 small bearing that resides in the gear housing, and since the grease is less than 5% moly I am not too concerned about damaging the bearing. All of the gears ride on bushings as far as I can see, although I may be wrong. The parts diagrams do not show anything other than complete gear sets.

Disassembled, cleaned and greased the fairlead. Ready to go back on but I am going to wait until I have the oil drained from the front diff just so I can access the front end easier. That is going to be project as the drain plug is stripped.
