My question is will Redline 5w20 work well in a car that is driven hard but maybe 1500 to 2000 miles a year and a small truck that is driven about 20,000 miles mostly highway easy miles per year. Both vehicles see proper oil temps before any spirited driving?

I don't know if it would "work well", but it should do ok. You should maybe think about using Amsoil and taking advantage of the longer drain capability.

Buster the car see oil changes every 6 months regardless of milage. The truck in question will see changes between 8,000 to 10,000. I am currently trying Amsoil in the wifes vehicle. Why do you say just ok to Redline. Is Amsoil that much superior?

Assuming your vehicle calls for 5w-20, then redline would be a good choice. It is a great oil and the HTHS is 3.3. That's higher than most 30 weight oils.

Amsoil is also good if your are looking for long term use(25,000 Miles).
