There's hope yet my brother!!!! Neil said he's retiring from "long" tours but didn't leave out a possible gig from time to time and they will still be making some albums...all is not lost!!!!

True, and I've seen Rush a couple of times in the past. One of the best shows I ever saw was Rush with Steve Morse back in the late mid/late 80s... what a virtuosity-fest!

(PS- can't believe I typed 'Neal' :-/ )

The thing that makes David so amazing,is that no matter what decade, his music was always AWESOME!!!!!! There will never be another Bowie, ever

I saw him in 1978 with a more intimate 12,000 at Christchurch's QE2 park.

Just heard on the radio that he had a "connection" to Texas. He was born David Jones and as his music career expanded he did not want to be confused with Davy Jones of the Monkees. He took the name Bowie from Jim Bowie, though, pronounced it differently.

I remember the first time seeing & hearing Bowie. It was on the Don Kirshner's Midnight Special TV program in late 1973, simulcast in stereo on a local FM station. They announced this band Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars and out came Bowie. Holy smokes my buddies and I thought, WTH is this ? He was great, and made a lot of new fans that night. We had never seen anything like that before and his band was red hot.

I think it was that same year that he was on a Bing Crosby Christmas special. That special was the first time I ever remember seeing Bowie. He didn't appear in glam make up or in character and just sang with Crosby in a sport coat as I remember...probably a let down for someone expecting something out of "Space Oddity" and getting something closer to "The Thin White Duke" singing Christmas songs. Which, of course, made it more interesting. RIP.

"Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere, angel"

Cheezy, but one of my all-time fave songs, "Golden Years".

He was a real 'artist' with his music...the 'art world' part of music has lost an important player.

RIP Bowie.

RIP David Bowie ... enjoyed your music throughout the years.
