"Ozium" a product hospitals use. Widely available. Comes in a small aerosol spray that will easily fit in a glove box or center console . Only use a very light short spray. You don't need much. It eliminates odors rather than masking them.

I have a little can of that.

Well, entertaining. The problem is not getting rid of the smell, the question/problem is if one brand or line of CAF keeps it out.

A CAF will not be able to mask the smell. When I'm forced to drive through an unpleasant area or at a stop light where cancer sticks are being puffed, I make sure my reticulation button is activated.

Perhaps I smell it more than you as I'm on a motorcycle a lot or you live under a rock, or on a island or you don't venture outside of a "gated community" as its all over the place now, not limited to bad parts of town...

You ever drive on a interstate? Any Main Street USA? When on my motorcycle I very often ( most if not EVERY day ) smell it from the car ahead of me and I live in a high end resort area..

The filter doesn’t work in the re-circulate mode so it’s not effective if a person turns their Kia into a hot box.

Well, I'm not moving just because once a month I drive through an area that doesn't smell good. And for those that live under a rock, get out and smell the pot - it's ubiquitous across the USA with licensed cannabis stores, as are skunks even in urban environments.
The smell of pot no longer means slum or bad neighborhood, it's in the middle and upper middle class suburbs too with legal brick and mortar stores on main streets.

This. I hate weed (love skunks though) as much as the next fat person, but forgoing living somewhere nice because pot stinks, no.

It's a amazing though. There is a processing plant not too far from town, about 12 miles away from us in the county. When we drive by that place, you know it.

CAFs with charcoal have gotten a mention or two.

Does anyone here think that a layer of charcoal in an approximate square foot of media would amount to a hill of beans? ...or that any beneficial effect would last longer than a week?

I saw one interesting thing years ago in CAFland.
The CAF was built into my Mom's 1999 Saab 9-5 SE.
One needed to saw a section of metal dashboard structure to allow the filter to be pulled out.
NOTE: The above is absolutely true.

The replaceable filter was the size of a small collegiate dictionary. However, it was mated with a pillow of charcoal the same size.
This monster pad of charcoal was not replaced. It was discarded. Saab never sold them.
I theorized it was an over-sized odor absorber with a designed lifespan long enough to see the vehicle sold.
I believe that air wouldn't really flow through the thing.
Wish I had taken pictures of it.
