When the dealer changed the oil on my buddy's Miata, he also added the BG MOA additive in free of charge. Afterwards, I also added a bottle of AutoRx to the crankcase. Are the two compatible? Do I have anything to worry about?

I am no expert but it seems to me that it would be better to use the BG MOA after doing an Auto-RX cleaning. BG MOA is supposed to prevent oxidation of the motor oil. You could use the Auto-RX for cleaning and the BG MOA to help keep the engine clean. But you also can use a maintenance dose of Auto-RX to keep the engine clean. I think the Auto-RX used in this way would be cheaper-a full bottle for cleaning every 25,000 miles or so and a maintenance dose of 3 oz. every oil change.

It shouldn't cause any problems, although it is kind of a waste - what's the point in having an oil-stabilizing additive if you're doing an ARX cleaning. But again, shouldn't hurt anything. MOA seems like LC in functionality. Anti-oxidation, viscosity mantaining, oil life extending, oil cleaning additive.

That reminds me, BG also has a flush I should check out one of these days.

The Miata was a newly purchased used car. So I wanted to use AutoRX in it to clean out the engine. But who knew that the dealer would have added the BG MOA. And I didn't want him to wait another 3-5K before having a clean engine...so I dumped it in. Oh well, at least the BG MOA was free.
