Do tell!

Never been in one. But I can address several things.

Best Buy Price Matching: In order to price match, it has to be a brick and mortar store (for obvious reasons). We have to then call the store in question, and verify that a. The item is the exact same model, at the lower price. and b. they have it in stock. I do it at least once a day, usually with staples. So we do price match. Or we are supposed to, maybe you got the bad store with the lazy sales staff.

Sales staff. We have an SOP. Our SOP is "greet every customer within 10 feet/30 seconds of entering the department". If we don't, we can get in trouble. So even though most of us understand some people want a few minutes to themselves, we are required to talk to you. So even though we are non-comissioned, this is why you may have several associates contact you. Just doing our job.

Price. Our prices for things like TVs, computers etc, generally aren't any better or worse than anyone elses. This is because there isn't much mark up on these items, generally if any at all.

Also, returns. You have to be within the return policy, (14/30 days, depending on the product). If you are polite, we can sometimes help you out, with a few days maybe. But when you come back 3 months after purchasing it wanting to return it..... No, that isn't going to happen. You have to have your receipt on you, sometimes we can look up the receipt, sometimes not. Depends on several factors, and it usually is up to customer service to be able to handle that kind of thing.

That price match is lousy. Has lost best buy a lot of my business. The only reason to go there is to have something that instant, as amazon is far cheaper.

With HH, at least theycan do a markdown without all the roundabout process...

Best Buy always gave me the run around. Not long ago I bought something there and it didn't work so literally 15 mins later I took it back for just an exchange not a refund. I think I forgot my receipt and driver's license for some reason or something like that. They told me they couldn't even look it up and exchange it without my driver license number. Most places will exchange something without a receipt and don't ask for your ID. And of course they usually open and inspect a return like you are a crook or something.

HD always asks for DL when returning without receipt. Never been an issue though. Not sure what would happen if I told them No comprende (sp?) as if I were an illegal.

They seem to be catering more and more to the illegal crowd anyway...
