That's quite a write-up. I have the same engine. It came with a 90915-20004, but they're not sold to the public. Instead, it calls for a 90915-YZZD3. I don't think there is anything special about them in terms of a standpipe.

He speculates that the oil cooler reduces the drain-back. I have the towing package and oil cooler.

I think if the oil was always draining back, then the dipstick would read higher, but it is always right on. I attribute the empty filter to the vacuum of the draining. I am not going to worry about it, and just remove the filter first next time, to see if that makes a difference. I'll report back - probably October - to this thread.
