No, it was really why would you live anywhere where you NEEDED 0W...unless you are Wim Hof, then it's part of your day. (BTW, cold showers in motels are much much warmer than here Creekside).

userfriendly, for e.g. having snow taller than a freight train boggles my mind.

re syrup, we had "golden syrup", and "imitation maple syrup" available as kids...when true maple became mainstream, that's all we would touch.

Linking the memes, when I was turbine engineer, all the parts that we got from Japan were in chip board made in Canada , and by chips...2-3" flakes of timber...the boxes were obviously tapped out maple trees, because they smelled great.

The "Snow taller than a freight train" photo was taken at the West portal of the McDonald Tunnel, Canadian Pacific Mountain Sub, 42 miles East of Revelstoke, BC, and was the result of a slide.
A good place to live if you like 0W20 M-1, which was used in the LPG fired switch "snow melters" back in the day.

RCHA 1&2 , Glacier look after avalanche control with their 105s.

Had ice all over the car yesterday morning, parking outside while our daughter is in town.
Even colder this morning, but no precip...it's a-coming!
Need to drive up north very soon to turn the heat on in our ski condo...
