Why Moto Guzzi Recommend 10W60 Syn for 1200's ?

Wow, that sump seems quite warm! Must be using that ridiculous 60-grade. ;-)

Just funnin'. I have no idea what any Goose runs best on.

Meguin / Megol makes a 10w60 JASO MA oil which supposedly is 100% PAO based (if one can believe their e-mail). It's not too expensive either.


I think that might be a confused quote from when the hydraulic tappet Californias came out in 2003. They used to spec 10-50/60 but had failures of the rollers to changed it to 5w-40 and released a recall kit with new rollers.
Mines running good at 60k

As for the oil heat, no idea, but you sure can smell mine after traffic on a hot day
