hi every one i keep reading threads about people mixing mmo and lucas together. whats the benefits of using this mix? do you use it every fill up?

Can you point me to some threads?

My first thought is that one serves as a better UCL, the other as a better cleaner, but I can't say Ive seen threads on this.

I swap adds every tank or at least every few tanks. I just took a gallon of lucas out of storage a few weeks ago, and I do have to say that something about how the car ran changed once I put it in!

I get the same feel when swapping to MMO though.

FP, schaeffer's, etc. can do certain things, like clean, lube the fuel pump well, etc., but MMO and lucas seem to give a different feel than other adds.

One benefit of mixing them is cold flow. The MMO thins Lucas UCL for use when it is truly cold out. Remember Lucas UCL is a straight 30wt so it does not like to flow as well when cold.

Why mix MMO and Lucas? Because this is Bitog and we like to experiment. I've mixed on occasion, MMO with TCW3. No problems to report.

Mixing MMO with Lucas lowers the cost of Lucas, that might be a benefit to some.

I've mixed MMO and LCL many times as well. About 50/50. I have no real explanation as to why. Been doing that for several years on my Silverado. I don't use anything but MMO in the Accord. Had a bad start once, right after adding LCL.

I don't. My truck sees 1 tank of gas every 1-2 months, so MPG is never that high anymore. I used to have 17.4MPG before Ethanol, 16 MPG afterwards, and then I quit driving it that much and now I get 15.5MPG pretty regularly regardless of what I put in the tank.

I put a mix of mmo and lucas ucl in a stainless steel bowl and tried to light it,,,it would not ignite, so I added a spoon full of gas, and it lite. the oil lucas started boiling and splattered on the sides of the bowl, so I guess thats how it works in the cylinders
