I havent heard or at least not yet that a reuseable filter causes engine break down. I continue to use aftermarket filters...i have a AFE Pro Dry in both Jetta and Tacoma. Both run just fine.

Don't worry they are arguing about K&N filters. From every independent test I have seen AFE Pro-Dry filtration rate is on par with paper air filters because drum roll please...... It is a synthetic PAPER filter much like the Mobil one oil filter media. AFE Pro Dry do not need to be oiled just washed.

i have this oil bible or something to that effect by david mann...it says that the worst air filter you can get is by using paper filter bec. it has far from the ideal of filtering air below .5micron.
i find it confusing,pls. can someone enlighten me on this.
