To me, most all times with some exceptions gas is cheap.
Geez, I remember paying over $1 a gallon in the 1970s and yesterday close to 50 years later 11/25/22 I filled up my tank and it was only $1.88 more expensive at $2.88 a gallon, gas is a bargain taking into account increased fuel taxes and inflation.

Heck, beverages you drink everyday have gone up more than that. Heck, a gallon of organic milk has recently went up close to $2 a gallon at $7 !

When I was in high school (1980s) gas was under one dollar a gallon. That’s the cheapest I ever remember it being.
2003 it was 89 cents a gallon for about a couple of weeks then 99 cents about a month. I remember that well. My BMW and I drove EVERYWHERE. Maybe that is where my traveling spirit started. I was 21. With a classic BMW... E30M20B27

Global crude oil market price has a lot to do with it. West Texas Intermediate is $76 and change a barrel at the moment. I think it was up to $120 not all that many months ago.
